Artificial ground - jinkoujiban (English spelling) artificial ground
Also called artificial ground. An artificial foundation made of structural materials such as steel frames and reinforced concrete. It is a means of making effective use of land in urban development. Several layers of artificial floors are built above ground, with the upper part being used for building houses and other buildings, and the lower part for public facilities. In Japan, the first full-scale artificial ground was built in Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture, in 1967, when the first phase of construction was completed, and was planned by Masato Otaka. This is a single-layer artificial ground, with the upper part being used for general residential areas and the lower part being used mostly for parking spaces.
