[1] The nickname of the fourth act of the Joruri play " Koimusume Mukashi Hachijo ". After being sent back to Shirokiya, Okoma is to marry Kizo, a son-in-law with a dowry, in order to restore her family's fortunes. However, to save Saizaburo from danger, she kills Kizo, and is arrested after the head clerk Johachi complains. [2] A scene from the Shinnai-bushi play "Koimusume Mukashi Hachijo". When Saizaburo, now a hairdresser, hears about Okoma's marriage proposal and berates him for his cold-heartedness, Okoma tells the truth and breaks down in tears.

[一] 浄瑠璃「恋娘昔八丈(こいむすめむかしはちじょう)」四段目の通称。城木屋へ帰されたお駒は、家運回復のため、持参金付の婿喜蔵を迎えることになったが、才三郎の危難を救うため喜蔵を殺し、番頭丈八の訴えで捕えられるという筋。[二] 新内節「恋娘昔八丈」の一段。髪結となった才三郎が、お駒の縁談を聞き、その薄情を責めるので、お駒が真実を語って泣きくどく部分。
