Shirvanshah

A medieval Sunni Islamic dynasty in the eastern Caucasus. Taking advantage of the chaos of the Abbasid Caliphate, the Arab Haytham established the Mazyad dynasty in 861, and was the first to use the title Shirvan Shah. It was followed by the Keslanid dynasty (1067/68-1382) of Muhammad bin Yazid, a descendant of the Iranian Sassanid dynasty, and the Darband dynasty (1382-1538) of Sheikh Ibrahim. The capital was originally Shamakha, and later Baku. It was destroyed by the Iranian Shiite Safavid dynasty.

カフカス東部にあったスンナ派の中世イスラム王朝。アッバース朝の混乱に乗じたアラブのハイサムが861年マズヤド朝を建て，最初にシルバン･シャーShirvan Shahの称号を用いた。以後，イランのササン朝の子孫ムハンマド･ブン･ヤジードのケスラーニー朝(1067∥68‐1382)，シャイフ･イブラーヒームのダルバンド朝(1382‐1538)と続く。首都は初めシャマハ，後にバクー。イランのシーア派国家サファビー朝に滅ぼされた。
