Humerus (upper arm bone)

Japanese: 上腕骨 - じょうわんこつ(英語表記)humerus
Humerus (upper arm bone)
A thick, tubular bone in the upper arm. The humerus head at the upper end forms the shoulder joint with the glenoid cavity of the scapula. The lower end is flattened from front to back, with the lateral and medial epicondyles protruding, between which are the condyles of the humerus, which form the elbow joint with the radius and ulna of the forearm. Below the humerus head are the greater and lesser tuberosities, which taper from below to the body of the bone. This area is called the surgical neck, and along with the upper condyle, it is a common site for fractures.
