Private biography of Prince Shotoku

Japanese: 聖徳太子伝私記 - しょうとくたいしでんしき

A book that describes the ruins related to Prince Shotoku, such as Jōgūō-in and Hōryū-ji Temple, as well as treasures and secret oral traditions about the prince. Written by Hōryū-ji Temple monk Kenshin. 2 volumes. The first volume was completed around 1238 (Rekinin 1), and the second volume shortly thereafter. Also known as Kokin Mokuroku-sho. A manuscript handwritten by the author still exists, and a revised version of that is also in circulation. It is an important historical source on medieval worship of Prince Shotoku and Hōryū-ji Temple. Included in Karasu Sokan, Dai Nippon Bukkyō Zenshū, and Zenshū of Prince Shotoku. [Iida Mizuho]
