A formal name for an ancient document. During the Nanboku-cho and Muromachi periods, it refers to documents issued by the Shugo of each province to relay and convey the Shigyojo (execution letter) issued by the Shitsuji or Kanrei upon the Shogun's orders (during the Nanboku-cho period, there was also the Hikitsuke Tounin's Hikitsuke Hosho). The system by which the Shogunate ordered Shugo to stop seizing land in territorial disputes was called Jungyō, and became the basic official authority of the Shugo after the Nanboku-cho period. At that time, documents issued by the Shugo, and even by Shugodai who received the Shugo's Jungyō, were both called Jungyōjō.
