Circuit Court - junkaisaiban

A system in the UK in which England and Wales are divided into eight circuit judicial districts, and high court judges visit each district three times a year to conduct criminal and civil trials. It began in the 13th century for the convenience of juries and helped to unify the country's laws. It was abolished in 1971. Similar systems existed in Germany and France. 英国でイングランドおよびウェールズを八つの巡回裁判区に分け，各区に高等法院判事が年３回出張して刑事・民事の裁判を行う制度。陪審員の便宜のために13世紀に始まり，全国を法的に統一するのに役立った。1971年廃止。類似の制度はドイツ，フランスにもあった。米国には巡回控訴裁判所が現存する。
