Circuit Court - junkaisaiban
A system in the UK in which England and Wales are divided into eight circuit judicial districts, and high court judges visit each district three times a year to conduct criminal and civil trials. It began in the 13th century for the convenience of juries and helped to unify the country's laws. It was abolished in 1971. Similar systems existed in Germany and France. The United States still has a circuit court of appeals.
