Zhu De-run (English name)

Chinese literati painter and Confucian scholar of the Yuan Dynasty. Born in Wu County (Suzhou, Jiangsu Province). His courtesy name was Zemin. He served the Yuan Dynasty on the recommendation of Zhao Mengfu, but he mostly spent his time writing in Suzhou. Influenced by the paintings and calligraphy in the Yuan Dynasty collection and by Zhao Mengfu, he widely adopted the landscape painting styles of Li Cheng, Guo Xi, Dong Yuan, and Ju Ran, but is generally considered to be one of the leading Yuan Dynasty landscape painters of the Li and Guo school, and also influenced the establishment of the Zhejiang school of painting in the Ming Dynasty. His representative work is Xiuyexuan Zujuan (Palace Museum, Beijing), and he wrote the book Cunzhai Shu.

中国，元の文人画家，儒学者。呉県 (江蘇省蘇州) の人。字は沢民。趙孟頫 (ちょうもうふ) の推薦により元朝にも仕えたが，多く蘇州にあって文筆活動を行なった。元室所蔵の書画や趙孟頫の影響を受け，李 (成) ・郭 (煕) ・董 (源) ・巨 (然) 派などの山水画風を広く摂取したが通常，元代李郭派山水画家を代表する一人と考えられ，明代浙派 (せっぱ) 画風の成立にも影響を与えた。代表作『秀野軒図巻』 (北京，故宮博物院) ，著書『存復斎集』。
