〘Noun〙 An office established in the third year of the Tenpyo Houji era ( 759 ). It was responsible for guarding the Imperial Palace with soldiers. It was the successor to the Bureau of Sword-Giving Toneri, and was renamed Konoefu in the first year of the Tenpyo Jingo era ( 765 ). ※Shoku Nihongi - Tenpyo Houji 3rd year (759), December 12th, Kogo: " Two sword-giving guards were established. Its officials: one superintendent, a junior fourth-rank officer; one assistant, a senior fifth-rank officer." 〘名〙 天平宝字三年(七五九)設置された官司。兵仗を帯して宮中を警衛する。授刀舎人寮の後身にあたり、天平神護元年(七六五)近衛府と改称した。※続日本紀‐天平宝字三年(759)一二月甲午「置二授刀衛一。其官員。督一人従四位上官。佐一人正五位上官」
