Zhu Xiān Zhèn (English spelling)

Japanese: 朱仙鎮 - しゅせんちん（英語表記）Zhū xiān zhèn

A commercial town that flourished during the Ming and Qing dynasties in China. It is located just south of Kaifeng, Henan Province. The name Zhuxian Town dates back to the mid-11th century, and comes from the residence of Zhu Hai, a man from the Warring States period. It is famous that in 1140 (the 10th year of Shaoxing), Yue Fei, who fought against the Jin Dynasty, led his troops back from here, which overlooked the old capital of Kaifeng, but in reality, Yue Fei retreated from Yancheng, far to the south. With the use of water transportation on the Jialu River during the Yuan dynasty, it developed significantly as a commercial settlement, and in the mid-Qing dynasty, it became one of China's four great towns, along with Hankou, Foshan, and Jingde.

中国，明･清時代に栄えた商業都市。河南省開封市のすぐ南にある。朱仙鎮の名は11世紀半ばにみられ，戦国時代の人朱亥の居仙人荘に由来する。1140年(紹興10)金と戦った岳飛が，旧都開封を指呼に望むここから軍を返したことで有名だが，実際は岳飛ははるか南の偃城（えんじよう）から撤退している。元代賈魯河（かろが）の水運の利用とともに商業集落として著しく発達し，清代中期には，漢口，仏山，景徳と並ぶ中国四大鎮の一つとなった。
