[1] (Noun) ① A Buddhist term. A classification of the ten stages of training required to attain enlightenment. In addition to the ten stages of Qian-e, Sho-e, Hachi-nin, Kan-e, Haku-e, Ri-zoku-e, Shi-jyo-e, B-saku-e, B-satsu-e, and Buddhism, as well as the ten stages of Joy, Ri-ka-e, I-n, Ka-e, Kang-e, R-i-chi, N-i-chi, Zan-e, Zan-e, and Dharmakaya-e, there are also the Ten Stages of Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha , and the Ten Stages of Buddha, which count the virtues of Buddha in ten different ways. ※Ryōiki (810-824) Vol. 1 “The virtues of the great monks are the same in the Ten Stages, and their ways surpass those of the two vehicles.” [2] = Jūjikyō (The Sutra of the Ten Stages)
