Born: September 29, 1820, Paris
[Died] August 24, 1883. Frosdorff The last heir to the throne of the House of Bourbon in France. Son of the Duke of Berry and grandson of Charles X. After Charles' death (1836), he was supported by the Legitimists and continued to claim the French throne under the name Henry V, but was unsuccessful when Louis-Philippe, Duke of Orléans, descended from Louis XIV's younger brother, ascended to the throne. He later competed for leadership with the Orléanists, led by Louis-Philippe Albert, son of Louis-Philippe, over the restoration of the monarchy, but a conflict over the flag caused the alliance between the two factions to miscarry, allowing the establishment of the Third Republic.
