Biography

His real name is unknown. He was raised in the Oshima Betto Trappist monastery in Hokkaido. He ran away at the age of 12, and after working as a laborer and a shipwright, he traveled to the United States. In 1929, he joined the Food Workers' Union through the introduction of the American communist Miyazaki Saburo. When the Spanish War broke out in 1926, he joined the International Volunteer Corps, and landed in Spain in 1927. He served in the Lincoln Battalion (15th International Traveling American Battalion) and fought in various places, and was killed in action on the Bretenay front in July of the same year.

本名は不明。北海道の渡島別当トラピスト男子修道院で育つ。12歳で脱走、人夫、沖仲士などを経て、渡米。昭和4年在米共産主義者宮崎三郎の紹介で食料労働者組合に入る。11年スペイン戦争が勃発すると国際義勇軍に加わり、12年スペインへ上陸。リンカーン大隊(第15国際旅大アメリカ人大隊)に所属し各地を転戦、同年7月ブルテネ戦線で戦死した。
