Socialist Education Movement (English: Socialist Education Movement)

Japanese: 社会主義教育運動 - しゃかいしゅぎきょういくうんどう（英語表記）Shè huì zhǔ yì jiào yù yùn dòng

China's General Review Movement, which took place from the winter of 1962 to the spring of 1966, was the prelude to the Cultural Revolution. Behind this movement was a fierce ideological conflict over the future of socialism. Namely, there was a conflict between Liu Shaoqi and others who believed that class struggle had disappeared in a socialist society and that the important thing was the organization of production, and Mao Zedong, who took an opposing position. At the 10th Plenary Session of the 8th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1962, Mao Zedong put forward the theory of transitional class struggle, which states that class struggle exists throughout socialist society, and based on this he launched a socialist education movement.

1962年冬から66年春にかけて行われた中国の総点検運動で，文化大革命の前奏曲となった。この運動の背景には，社会主義の行方をめぐる激しい路線対立があった。すなわち，社会主義社会にあっては階級闘争は消滅した，重要なのは生産の組織化だ，とする劉少奇らに対して，それと対立する立場をとる毛沢東の対立である。毛沢東は，62年の中共8期10中全会で，社会主義社会を貫いて階級闘争が存在するという過渡期階級闘争理論を打ちだし，それをふまえて社会主義教育運動を発動した。
