Oirase is an old town in Kamikita district, eastern Aomori prefecture. It is located between Hachinohe and Misawa, and is served by the Tohoku Main Line. Most of the area is plateau below 50m above sea level, and in addition to producing rice, it also cultivates vegetables. It is also developing as a residential area on the outskirts of Hachinohe. In March 2006, it merged with Momoishi town in Kamikita district to become Oirase town in Kamikita district. Area 50.44 km2 . Population 13,860 (2003). 青森県東部,上北郡の旧町。八戸(はちのへ)市と三沢市の間にあり,東北本線が通じる。大部分は標高50m以下の台地で,米を産するほか,野菜栽培も行う。八戸市の近郊住宅地としても発展しつつある。2006年3月,上北郡百石町と合併し町制,上北郡おいらせ町となる。50.44km2。1万3860人(2003)。
