[1] The southern half of Kyoto City, when divided into north and south. South of Sanjo-dori. [2] One of the administrative districts of Kyoto City. From Shijo-dori south to Hachijo-dori. Bounded by the Kamo River to the east and the Nishi-Takase River to the west. Kyoto Station is located here, and most of the area is a commercial district with a high population density. Nishi Hongan-ji Temple and Higashi Hongan-ji Temple are located here.
