Shitekata - shitekata

Japanese: シテ方 - シテかた

The name of the roles of actors who play the shite, tsure, tomo, kokata, jiutai, and koken in Noh, and the roles of the groups. It is used in contrast to wakikata, hayashikata, and kyogenkata, and there are five schools: Kanze, Hosho, Konparu, Kongo, and Kita. In the past, there was a position called jiutaikata, who specialized in jiutai, but today, even if an actor does not perform Noh as a tachikata and only specializes in jiutai, he is called shitekata.
