Shikeshida - Shikeshida
A perennial herb of the Metaminoceae family that commonly grows under mountain forests, on forest edges, and on roadsides and banks in human settlements. Summer-green. The rhizome is long and creeps close to the ground, with leaves rather sparsely borne. The rhizome and petiole are light brown, entire, and sparsely covered with membranous scales. The petiole is 10-30 cm long. The leaf blade is herbaceous, broadly lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 20-40 cm long, 10-15 cm wide, twice pinnate, and covered with short soft hairs on both sides. The pinnae are lanceolate, slightly oblique to the central axis, with a central to deep lobe and gradually acute pointed tip, the lobes are elliptical, slightly oblique, round to blunt, and the veins are free.
