Chicago Tribune

Japanese: シカゴ・トリビューン(英語表記)Chicago Tribune
Chicago Tribune
An American daily newspaper. It was first published in 1847 as the Chicago Daily Tribune by John L. Scripps and others. In 1855, it grew rapidly into a major newspaper after J. Medill and others joined in management and editing. It supported the founding of the Republican Party and contributed to the election of President Lincoln, and became a newspaper of national interest during the Civil War. From 1910, it flourished under the management of J.M. Patterson and R.R. McCormick, also members of the Medill family, and for 20-30 years it was one of the newspapers with the highest circulation in America.
