The lyric part of Noh. It is also called ji or homonym. There is also a chorus group (jiutaikata or jikata) that is responsible for it. In Noh, 6 to 12 people appear, sitting sideways in two rows on the right side of the Noh stage (jiutaiza). They wear kamishimo (traditional Japanese formal kimono) or crested clothing and hakama (Japanese formal troupe), and do not wear costumes (funso). The leader in the center of the back row (right or left depending on the school if there is an even number) is called jigashira (chigashira), and is in charge of the scale, rhythm, and everything else. The jiutai come from the shite, but some of them are specialized in jiutai and do not dance forms. The content of the jiutai is not only explanations, lyricism, and scenery from a third person's perspective, but also often speaks for the characters' lines and describes their psychology. In Kyogen, 3 to 5 jiutai are sometimes used, but as in Noh's shimai (end of the dance), they sit at the back center of the stage facing the front, and do not use the jiutaiza.
