3rd generation

(1849-1907) His real name was Takeuchi Kintaro. He was known as Shiusuzume under the second Gomeiro Tamasuke, but when he moved to the school of San'yutei Encho he took the name En'yu. He had a large nose and was famous for his suteteko dancing, hence he was known as "En'yu with his nose" and "En'yu in suteteko". He devoted himself to adapting rakugo, incorporating En'yu's style into stories such as "Nozarashi" and "Funatoku", establishing the form that exists today.
