Yamashiro

Yamashiro
[1] One of the five provinces in the Kinai region. After the Taika Reforms, it became one province. In the past, it was written as Yamashiro or Yamashiro, but in 794 , Emperor Kanmu established Heian-kyo and changed the name to Yamashiro. During the Kamakura period, the Kyoto Shugo (later the Rokuhara Tandai) was established, and during the Muromachi period, the shogunate was established and the Samurai-dokoro Shoshi also served as Shugo. During the Edo period, the Shoshidai and Machibugyo were established in Kyoto, the Magistrate in Fushimi, and the Yodo Domain. After the abolition of the feudal domains and the establishment of prefectures in 1871 , it became Kyoto Prefecture and Yodo Prefecture, but Yodo Prefecture was soon abolished and became the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture. [一] 畿内五か国の一つ。大化改新後一国となる。古く山背・山代と書かれたが、延暦一三年(七九四)桓武天皇が平安京を置くとともに山城と改められた。鎌倉時代は京都守護(のち六波羅探題)が置かれ、室町時代は幕府が開かれ、侍所所司が守護を兼ねた。江戸時代は京都に所司代・町奉行、伏見に奉行が置かれ、また淀藩が置かれた。明治四年(一八七一)の廃藩置県後、京都府と淀県となったが、まもなく淀県は廃止され、京都府の南部となる。雍州。山州。城州。城(じょう)。[二] 雅楽の曲名。催馬楽の呂の歌。[三] 旧日本海軍の戦艦。大正六年(一九一七)竣工。排水量三万六〇〇トン。主砲三六サンチ砲一二門。「扶桑(ふそう)」と同型。
