A town in Kamo district in southern Gifu prefecture. The Takayama Main Line runs through the town. Rice and field crops are cultivated here, but in recent years, automobile-related and machinery-related industries have flourished. Housing development is also underway. The nearby Kiso River is a scenic spot on the Nihon Rhine that belongs to the Hida Kiso River Quasi-National Park. 12.87 km2 . 8,361 people (2010).
