A Polish author. Along with Witkiewicz and Schulz, he was one of the leading figures in avant-garde literature in the interwar period. In 1939, while traveling on a transatlantic ship, he stayed in Argentina and lived in exile due to the outbreak of World War II. He finally returned to Europe 24 years later, but died in Vence in the south of France without ever setting foot on his native soil. His representative work is the long novel Ferdydulke (1937). → Related items Murojek Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
