An ancient Roman god. He was the patron deity of grain stored underground and was closely related to the fertility goddess Opus, who personified wealth, and had an altar underground. On festival days, horses, foals, and donkeys were freed from work, decorated with flower garlands, and horse races were held, so he was identified with the Greek horse god Poseidon Hippios.

古代ローマの神。地下に貯蔵された穀物の守護神で，富を神格化した豊穣女神オプスと関係が深く，地下に祭壇をもっていた。祭りの日には，馬やら馬，ろ馬などが労働から解放されて花輪で飾られ，競馬が行われたために，ギリシアの馬神ポセイドン・ヒッピオスと同一視された。
