Emperor Guangxu (English: Emperor Guangxu)

[Birth] Tongzhi 10 (1871).6.28. Beijing
[Died] Guangxu 34 (1908). October 21. Beijing, China. The 11th emperor of the Qing Dynasty (reigned 1875-1908), Emperor Dezong. His given name was Zai Tian. His father was Prince Yiqian, the younger brother of Emperor Xianfeng, and his mother was the younger sister of Empress Dowager Cixi. With the help of Empress Dowager Cixi, he ascended to the throne at the age of 4 in the 1st year of the Guangxu era (1875). Empress Dowager Cixi became regent and began to rule the country personally in the 13th year of the same year, but Empress Dowager Cixi still held real power. In the 24th year of the same year, he attempted to restore imperial power and transform the country into a constitutional monarchy with the help of Kang Youwei and others, but failed. He was imprisoned in the palace (→ Wuxu Reform), and from then on he became a robot of Empress Dowager Cixi, dying the day before her death.

中国，清朝の第 11代皇帝 (在位 1875～1908) ，徳宗。名は載てん (さいてん) 。父は咸豊帝の弟の醇親王奕けん，母は西太后の妹。西太后の力で，光緒1 (1875) 年，4歳で即位。西太后が摂政となり，同 13年から親政を開始したが，実権は依然西太后が掌握していた。同 24年，康有為らを用いて帝権回復と立憲君主制への転換をはかったが失敗し，宮城内に幽閉され (→戊戌の変法 ) ，以後は完全に西太后のロボットと化し，西太后の死の前日に没した。
