Stellar object - stellar object

Stellar object - stellar object
Also known as quasars, quasars, and QSOs (short for quasi-stellar objects). There are stellar radio sources (QSSs) that emit radio waves, and stellar galaxies (QSGs) that barely emit radio waves. They look like stars on astrophotography plates, but they are not stars. When viewed in spectrograms, they show emission lines characteristic of gaseous objects, and these lines are significantly shifted toward the red side (the wavelength is extended). If this is interpreted as the Doppler effect, they are moving away at a speed of 10% to 90% of the speed of light, and if the proportional relationship between the speed and distance of a galaxy holds, they must be celestial objects 2 to 14 billion light years away. Considering this, stellar objects are more than 100 times brighter than galaxies (about 10 billion times brighter than the sun), and are much smaller in size than galaxies. They have been discovered since around 1963, and about 1,500 are known. Stellar objects are unusual celestial bodies that were never expected. Their essence is that they have at their center a supermassive black hole with a mass about 1 billion times that of the Sun, and when stars or gas are attracted to this black hole, the gravitational energy released is converted into the acceleration of radio waves and particles.

Japanese:
クエーサー,準星,QSO(quasi-stellar objectの略)とも。
