Aminophenol

Japanese: アミノフェノール

(chemical formula) A compound in which the hydrogen atom on the benzene nucleus of phenol is replaced with an amino group _-NH2 . This usually refers to a compound with one amino group, and there are three isomers: o- , m- , and p- . The p -isomer is produced by reducing p -phenylazophenol, which is produced by the reaction of phenol with a diazonium salt, _with hydrosulfite _Na2S2O4 . (chemical formula) Aminophenols are easily oxidized to quinones. For this reason _, they are used as photographic developers (Rodinal, Metol, Amidol, etc.).

(化学式)フェノールのベンゼン核についている水素原子をアミノ基－NH₂で置換した化合物。ふつうはアミノ基が一つのものをさし，これにはo‐，m‐，p‐の3異性体が存在する。p‐体はフェノールとジアゾニウム塩の反応で生ずるp‐フェニルアゾフェノールをハイドロサルファイトNa₂S₂O₄で還元して作る。(化学式)アミノフェノールは容易に酸化されてキノンになる。このため写真の現像液(ロジナール，メトール，アミドールなど)として使われている。
