〘名〙 令制で、租・庸・調および雑徭の一部、または全部を免除したこと。官位・職務などによって免除する「常時の蠲免」と、外国にあった者、孝子・節婦、父母の死去にあった者、災害・慶事・凶事のあった時、行幸に供奉した国郡、悠紀主基(ゆきすき)国、戦場になった国などを免除の対象とした「臨時の蠲免」があった。蠲除(けんじょ)。→蠲符(けんぷ)。※令義解(718)職員「蠲免。〈謂。同令。応レ免二課役一者。皆待二蠲符至一。然後注レ免。是也〉」
