Plate glass sandwiched between metal mesh or wire to improve impact resistance or fire resistance. The glass itself is of the same composition as ordinary plate glass, and is made by the rolling method (see the entry on plate glass). The metal used is an iron alloy stainless steel that has the same thermal expansion coefficient as glass. In addition to patterned plate glass, which has a pattern on the surface, there is also polished plate glass, which has been polished on both sides. Its thickness is 6.8 to 10 mm.
