A type of cutting process in the broad sense. A grinding wheel (also called a grinding wheel) made of hardened abrasive material is rotated at high speed, and the corners of the abrasive grains (→ abrasive grain processing) are used to grind the workpiece little by little to the required shape, dimensions, and surface condition. The abrasive grains are extremely hard, so they can easily cut hardened steel parts and cemented carbide, which are difficult to cut with a cutting tool, and can produce a good finished surface and dimensional accuracy, so they are usually used in the final finishing process.
