Economic history is an academic field that extracts phenomena belonging to the single realm of economics from the diverse cultural domains that make up the actual historical process, and by elucidating the historical process of economic development and the historicity of economic phenomena in relation to other cultural phenomena, it provides an important perspective for fundamentally understanding the development of human culture, and, with such an understanding as a background, ultimately aims to help us grasp the state of the economy in the "modern age as history" and what it means to us.
