Chrome yellow

Japanese: クロムイェロー（英語表記）chrome yellow

A yellow inorganic pigment also known as yellow lead. In addition to Chrome Yellow G, whose main component is lead chromate _PbCrO4 , there are also Chrome Yellow 10G and 5G, which are greenish in color and mainly contain lead chromate and lead sulfate _PbSO4 , and Chrome Yellow R and 5R, which are orange in color and mainly contain basic lead chromate, which is a combination of lead chromate and lead oxide (II) PbO. The production method generally used is a wet method, in which metallic lead and lead (II) oxide are reacted with nitric acid to produce lead nitrate, to which sodium dichromate is added to obtain lead chromate crystals, which are then turned into a pigment and used as the product.

黄鉛ともいわれる黄色無機顔料。主成分がクロム酸鉛PbCrO₄であるクロムイェローGのほか，クロム酸鉛と硫酸鉛PbSO₄を主成分とする緑色調のクロムイェロー10G,5G，クロム酸鉛と酸化鉛(II)PbOとが結合した塩基性クロム酸鉛を主成分とする橙色調のクロムイェローR,5Rなどもある。製法は一般的には湿式法が用いられ，金属鉛，酸化鉛(II)に硝酸を反応させ硝酸鉛をつくり，これに二クロム酸ナトリウムを加えてクロム酸鉛の結晶を得，顔料化して製品とする。
