This refers to a group of poets who appeared in Italy in the early 20th century. They are also called the Twilight School. The name comes from a short essay published in 1910 by critic GA Borgese, in which he described the state of affairs in which traditional Italian poetry was heading for an end with the emergence of Carlo Chiaves, Fausto Maria Martini, and Marino Moretti as "twilight." Other representative poets include S. Corazzini, G. Gozzano, and Corrado Govoni, but they did not form a school of poets or develop a movement of their own.
