Stupid Questions and Answers - Gumon Zakki

Japanese: 愚問雑記 - ぐもんざっき

This is a commentary on the words and phrases of Kagura songs (kagura songs) and Saibara (saibara). It was written by Shimokawabe Choryu, a poetic scholar of the early Edo period. There is the previous Ichijo Kaneyoshi's Ryojinguansho as a commentary on the words and phrases of Kagura songs, which were sung in unison to accompany music and dance performed in front of the gods, and Saibara, which can be considered folk songs arranged in the style of gagaku. This book follows on from that, and is considered a pioneering work in research on Keichu and Kamo no Mabuchi. The original is kept at Kamo Wakeikazuchi Shrine in Kyoto. 神楽歌（かぐらうた）および催馬楽（さいばら）の語句についての注釈書。江戸前期の歌学者下河辺長流著。神前で奏された楽舞にともない唱和された神楽歌，また雅楽風に編曲された民謡ともいうべき催馬楽の語句注釈書としては，前代の一条兼良の《梁塵愚案抄》があるが，本書はそれにつぐもので，契沖や賀茂真淵研究の先駆的位置におかれる。原本は京都，賀茂別雷神社蔵。《契沖全集》付巻《長流全集》所収。【鎌田純一】
