Ahmet Haşim

1885‐1933
Turkish poet. He was the founder of the magazine Fecri Ati, Dawn of the Future, and formed a group that advocated Western literary thought, especially French Symbolism. After the group disbanded, he did not join any organization, but continued to write poetry. He was also a dreamer, and lived a life of deprivation, both in terms of his family and career. His poetry aimed to realize "pure poetry," and is backed by delicate emotion rather than passion. In addition to collections of poems such as "Moments by the Lake" (1921) and "Drinking Glass" (1926), he also published a collection of essays.

トルコの詩人。《未来の夜明けFecri Ati》誌を主宰し，西欧文学思潮とくにフランス象徴主義を理念とするグループを結成した。同グループ解散後はどの組織にも加わらず，詩作活動を続けた。夢想家の一面をもち，家庭的にも経歴の上でも恵まれない生涯を送った。彼の詩は〈純粋詩〉の実現をめざし，情熱よりも繊細な感情に裏づけられている。《湖畔の時》(1921)，《酒杯》(1926)などの詩集のほか，随筆集もある。
