Born in 1669. A shogunate official. He served at the finance magistrate's office, and in 1716 he became the governor of Omori (Oda City, Shimane Prefecture) in the Iwami silver mine domain. During the Kyoho famine, he collected rice from other countries, reduced taxes, and used public funds. He also promoted the cultivation of sweet potatoes, and was called the potato governor.
