Japanese: アビシニアン[種]（英語表記）Abyssinian

The world's oldest breed of domestic cat (illustration). It is a short-haired breed that originated in Ethiopia. There are no specific body sizes, but it is better for them not to be too large, about the same size as a Japanese cat. They have a muscular, slim body and a long tail. They have large, almond-shaped eyes that are golden, blue or light brown. Their short fur is characterized by a horizontal stripe pattern called "mixed color" that is yellowish brown or brick-colored from the root side and black or dark brown at the tip. If the brick color in the center of the arrangement is bright, the whole body appears orange, which is beautiful.

世界で最も古い品種のイエ(家)ネコ(イラスト)。短毛種で，原産地はエチオピア。体格は特に規定はないが，あまり大きくないほうがよく，日本ネコくらいである。体は筋肉質，スマートで，長い尾をもつ。目は大きくアーモンド形で，金色，青色，または淡褐色。短い被毛は毛根の側から黄褐色，煉瓦色，先端は黒色か暗褐色の〈まじり色〉といわれる横縞模様などが特徴である。配列中央の煉瓦色が明るいと，体全体が橙色にみえて美しい。
