The Story of Kirishitan

Japanese: 吉利支丹物語 - きりしたんものがたり

Author unknown. 2 volumes. Completed in 1639 (Kan'ei 16). This book describes events related to Christianity, from its introduction to Japan, through Nobunaga's protection, the Azuchi sect debate, Hideyoshi's treatment, the ban on Christianity, and so on, up until the Amakusa Rebellion (→ Shimabara Rebellion), in 12 sections, written in mixed kana. It is included in such books as Zokuzoku Gunsho Ruiju, Kirishitan Bunko, Kaihyo Sosho, and Nihon Shiso Toso Shiryo.

著者不詳。2巻。寛永 16 (1639) 年成立。キリシタンに関し，その伝来から始めて，信長の保護，安土宗論，秀吉の処置，宗門禁止など，天草の乱 (→島原の乱 ) にいたる事跡を 12項目に分けて，かな交じり文で記述してある。『続々群書類従』『吉利支丹文庫』『海表叢書』『日本思想闘諍史料』などに所収。
