Anorisaki - Anorisaki

Japanese: 安乗崎 - あのりさき
Anorisaki - Anorisaki

A cape that belongs to Shima City, Mie Prefecture, and is located at the tip of the Shima Peninsula, at the entrance to Matoya Bay. It is also called "Anorizaki." The masculine scenery of the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing against the cliffs and reefs is spectacular, and at the tip of the cape is a white square lighthouse (first erected in 1872). Along with black porgy fishing, it is one of the tourist spots in Shima. It is about a 25-minute bus ride from Ugata Station on the Kintetsu Railway Shima Line. On the south side of the cape, on the Matoya Bay side, there is the fishing port of Anori, and tourist boats also depart for Matoya Bay. The area is popular for female divers who catch abalone, turban shells, and wakame seaweed, and is also known as a village that passes on Anori puppet theater (a national important intangible folk cultural property).
