Ruins of the Old Cun Castle (English: Niú cūn gǔ chéng zhǐ)

Japanese: 牛村古城址 - ぎゅうそんこじょうし（英語表記）Niú cūn gǔ chéng zhǐ

The site of a castle from the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, located northwest of Houma City, Shanxi Province, China. The area is crossed by the Fen River to the north and the Huo River to the south, and is considered to be Xintian, where the capital of the Jin State was located during the Spring and Autumn Period. In addition to Niucun Ancient City, there are many other ancient castle sites in the vicinity, including Baidian Ancient City, Pingwang Ancient City, Taishen Ancient City, Mazhuang Ancient City, and Chengwang Ancient City, and they have been frequently surveyed since 1957. Niucun Ancient City is roughly rectangular, with an area of 1,340-1,740m from north to south and 1,100-1,400m from east to west, and the northwest corner of the castle overlaps with Pingwang Ancient City.

中国，山西省侯馬市の北西にある春秋戦国時代の城址。この地は，北に汾水が，南に澮水が流れ，春秋時代に晋国の都が置かれた〈新田〉に比定されている。付近には，牛村古城のほか，白店古城，平望古城，台神古城，馬荘古城，呈王古城などの古城址が多数残り，1957年以来たびたび調査が行われている。牛村古城は，ほぼ長方形を呈し，南北長1340～1740m，東西幅1100～1400mの面積を有し，城の北西角は平望古城に重なっている。
