A poisonous mushroom of the Basidiomycete family of the Order Matsutake and Family Ipponshimeji. The cap is 3-8 cm long, with a gray-brown, flesh-colored, and glossy surface. The gills grow on the stem, which are initially white and later turn pale pink. The stem is hollow, slender, and brittle. The spores are pentagonal or hexagonal, flesh-colored. In autumn, they grow in colonies on the ground in forests. They are widely distributed in Japan, Europe, North America, and other places. It is a poisonous mushroom of the same genus as Ipponshimeji, and more cases of poisoning have been reported with Ipponshimeji.
