A lake in the southwest of Fukui Prefecture, on the border between Mihama Town and Wakasa Town. One of the Mikata Five Lakes. It was formed when a sand spit blocked the lake and Wakasa Bay after land subsidence. Its area is 1.40 km2 . Its maximum depth is 2.5 m. It is connected to Lake Suigetsu by the artificial Urami River, and also to Wakasa Bay by rapids, so seawater accounts for 70% of the lake's water. As a result, eels, gobies, mullets, and other fish are caught here. It belongs to Wakasa Bay Quasi-National Park.
