[1] 〘名〙江戸時代、歳末の門付けの一種。一二月の初めから二七、八日ごろまで、羊歯(しだ)の葉を挿した笠をかぶり、赤い布で顔をおおって目だけを出し、割り竹をたたきながら二、三人で組になって町家にはいり、「ああ節季候節季候、めでたいめでたい」と唱えて囃(はや)して歩き、米銭をもらってまわったもの。せっきぞろ。《季・冬》〔俳諧・誹諧初学抄（1641）〕[2] 歌舞伎所作事。長唄。二世桜田治助作詞。四世杵屋六三郎作曲。初世藤間勘十郎振付。文化一〇年（一八一三）江戸森田座初演。七世市川団十郎の八変化物「閏茲姿八景(またここにすがたはっけい)」の一つで、節季候の振事。
