The former county of Wales in southeast England, England. In 1974, the former county of Monmouthshire was reorganised to include the south-eastern end of Brecknockshire and the entire county of Monmouthshire, except for the western edge. In 1996, it was abolished and divided into the unitary authorities of Blainigh Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torbain and parts of Caerphilly.

イギリス，ウェールズ南東部の旧県名。1974年の自治体再編で，旧モンマスシャー県の西縁部を除く全域に旧ブレックノックシャー県の南東端部が編入されて新設。1996年に廃止され，単一自治体（ユニタリー unitary authority）のブライナイグウェント，モンマスシャー，ニューポート，トーバインおよびカーフィリーの一部へと分割された。
