〘noun〙① Ceremonial weapons and equipment. Practical weapons were sometimes used for dignified purposes, but in most cases, flashy and formal weapons were used. ※Ryo Gikai (833) official: "Weapons. Ceremonial guards. (Says. For use in warfare , they are called weapons . For use in ceremonial appearances, they are called ceremonial guards. ) " ② Ceremonies. ※Hanrin Kourokushu (around 1518) 14, Rokuon-in Hall Centenary Memorial Ceremony: "In response to the envoy of the Great Ming , Zen Master Tenrin, a lecturer at the Kitayama Bekgyo Hermitage, the ceremonial guards were extremely well- prepared ."
