Kinhonzen

...A military commander of the Goryeo dynasty in Korea. His pen name was Honjon and his posthumous name was Chungryeol. He was from Andong, Gyeongsang Province. He was the distant grandson of King Gyeongsun of Silla. He served three generations of kings, Gojong, Wonjong, and Chungryeol, and dealt with the difficult domestic, foreign, and military affairs under the Mongol invasion. When the Sambyeolcho Rebellion (1270-73) broke out, he cooperated with the Mongol army to suppress it, and was promoted to the rank of Monka Shiju for his efforts. He served as the commander of the Goryeo army during the first Mongol invasion of Japan (the Bun'ei War), and again led the Goryeo army in the second Mongol invasion of Japan (the Koan War). During that time, he went to the Yuan dynasty to meet Kublai Khan and to mediate diplomatic relations, and was exiled to an island due to a false accusation made by a Yuan general.

…朝鮮，高麗朝の武将。字は本然，諡（おくりな）は忠烈。慶尚道安東の人。新羅敬順王の遠孫。高宗･元宗･忠烈王3代に仕え，モンゴル侵略下の多難な内政･外交･軍事の処理に当たった。三別抄の乱(1270‐73)が起こると，モンゴル軍と協力して鎮圧につとめ，その功で門下侍中となり，モンゴルの第1次日本遠征(文永の役)では高麗軍の司令官として出動し，第2次日本遠征(弘安の役)では再び高麗軍をひきいて参戦した。その間，元に行ってフビライに会い国交の調整につとめ，元将の誣告によって島流しにされたこともある。…
