Gimpo International Airport

An international airport in South Korea. It is located in Gimpo, about 17 kilometers west of the capital, Seoul. In order to meet the growing demand for air transport, construction of a new international airport in Incheon began in 1992, and Seoul Incheon International Airport opened in 2001. With the completion of the new airport, Gimpo International Airport became exclusively for domestic flights.

韓国（大韓民国）の国際空港。首都ソウルの西方約17キロメートルの金浦(きんぽ／キムポ)に位置する。航空輸送需要の伸びに対応するため、仁川(じんせん／インチョン)に新しい国際空港の建設が1992年に着手され、2001年ソウル仁川国際空港が開港。新空港の完成に伴い、金浦国際空港は国内線専用となった。
