…It is located about 14km east of the Royal Palace. The Donggureungs consist of nine tombs and 17 royal tombs, starting with King Taejo's Gonwonreung in 1408, followed by the Hyeonreungs of King Munjong and his consort Queen Hyeondeok, the Mokreungs of King Seonjo, his consort Queen Uiin, and his consort Queen Inmok, the Sungrungs of King Hyeonjong and his consort Queen Myeongseong, the Huireungs of King Injo's consort Queen Jangryeol, the Hyereungs of King Gyeongjong's consort Queen Danui, the Wonreungs of King Yeongjo and his consort Queen Jeongsun, the Gyeongreungs of King Heonjong, his consort Queen Hyohyeon, and his consort Queen Hyojeong, and the Suireungs of King Munjo (Crown Prince Hyomyeong) and his consort Empress Shinjeongik in 1855. The topography of the Donggureungs is said to be one of the best places to match the theory of feng shui. …
