Generally, coal is classified by size at the coal preparation plant and sold as lump coal, medium lump coal, fine coal, etc. However, coal that is not washed and therefore contains rubbish and other materials is called "cut coal" and is relatively cheap. There is also "cut coal" which is a product made by mixing lumps and powder after washing, and in this case the former is called "unsorted cut coal".
